They were the people that first started me on my flower adventure and I couldn't thank them anymore. They will be the couple of the centery and im honered to have them be the first of my handmade weddings.

Something New !

For months now I have wanted to go bigger and better with my business. I have recently attended a few purse parties at some friend’s houses. I find these parties to be fun for spending your paycheck or simply just relaxing with friends. I did a small amount of research at the library recently. I really want to be able to do something of my own that will be fun and eventful for a lot of people. In a book at the library I discovered something called a crafting party. When people get together and make crafts. There are some downfalls for this party. People aren’t always crafty or even want to be crafty.  So here I am back to step one… and then it hit me.

I’m going to start Fabri-Fleur parties! Here are my brief ideas so far…

-First I will need a host that is willing to have friends over to her house for a good time. The host can supply food wine and needs to be able to have an area were all of her guests can fit comfortably.
-The host will invite five guests who can each invite one person (so that everyone can feel comfortable with knowing someone).
- When all of the guests arrive they will be shown each piece that Fabri-Fleur offers for ordering. I have a lot of options like bouquets, nylon hair flowers, head bands, pins, hair clips, hair flowers, rings, and a lot more. Each one can be personalized with your favorite colors, flowers, centers, and ideas. The money for the pieces are due at the party. Each persons order will be given to the hostess to deliver in about a month.
-Here comes the fun part…Each person will be able to go home with a free hair clipp personalized by themselves!
- There will be stations set up at the party ware you can pick the kind of flower you want, what wire, what nylon or fabric, what felt for the back ,what center, even add feathers , go crazy!!
-After each piece is picked I will make them for you wile you party or play games!

The best part! The hostess gets two free made on the spot pieces and five ordered pieces at discount prices.( A limitation of only one bouquet with ordered pieces).

So in order for me to start I need a hostess! Someone that is leanient because this will be my first time ! If any one is interested please contact me . Im not making appointments until the beginning of December. I understand is a wile away but I need to be able to get all of the supplies I need to start!

october !

Hello everyone !!
Sorry I have not written in a while things have been insane !!I have been going crazy trying to pack and move all of my things into my new studio! The walls are freshly painted and finally its ready to go. I had no idea how much boxes of stuff I have to put in there. I have been having a little trouble getting past the mountains of boxes I have. Soon enough !

I’m so so so so excited for this month. I have two awesome weddings to attend . I love going to weddings! I have my cousin Leah who is warring one of my nylon flowers to her reception. Little does she know she will be the first bride to sport one of my nylons down the ial. I know she will ware it well. The wedding is going to amazing as always when the hole family get together.

Then at the end of the month I’m attending my good friend Rachel and Matt’s wedding. There hole bridal party will all be sporting my bouquets, boutonnieres, and nylon hair pieces. Rachel’s mother will be looking amazing warring my first nylon corsage to mach her dress perfectly. Not to mention Matt’s boutonniere is awesome and does nothing but brings out his personality. This wedding is going to be so special for me because Rachel and Matt were the first to inspire me with my business six months ago. I thank them every day for being in my life and doing this for me . Even though they did nothing but get engaged J.

Pictures will be here soon I know you are as excited as I am to see the finished products in action.

Im in love with tool..

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” — John Lennon

My first Etsy sale..

I first discovered Etsy through a friend about a year an a half from now. Im addicted I must say. It is such an amazing place for people like me to get out there and become someone. People are inspiring on that site. People have quit there job and become a full time crafter. I was looking for my way to become part of this wonderful phenomenon. I was hesitant to make my own shop. This site is huge. I thought ”how would any one find me on here?”. Well they did..

I recently was contacted by a lovely lady named Nora. She is part of the Red Had society. A wonderful group of women that are full of girl power. I must mention they love warring ridiculous hats. I can’t explain to you how many times she explained I love bling. Well guess what..bling is what your going to get. I am so excited about this sale from my etsy site. I have been telling everyone.. but the younger crowd had no idea what im talking about.

It was all started by a lady named Sue Ellen who took a trip to Tuscan and bought a red fedora. She loved the looks of this magnificent fedora even though it was cheap and bought at a thrift store. She thought to her self why not ware it and be different. A few days later she read the poem “warning “by Jenny Joseph. A poem about a women warring a purple outfit and a wonderful red hat. As a birthday gift she gave her friend a red hat. From there the red hat gift was given from friend to friend for years and the Red Hat Society had started.

The red hat society is a world wide red and purple warring group that supports these wonderful idea’s..

Fun – we celebrate life at every ageFriendship – we solidify and expand the bonds of sisterhoodFreedom – we discover and explore new interestsFulfillment – we realize our personal potentialFitness – we embrace healthy, life-lengthening lifestyles

I am so excited to get these head pieces started for such inspiring powerful wimen.

Stay tuned..

All information was from the Red Hat Society web site.. check it out!!

a thought

Always in movies they have the corny lines of how to find yourself. I couldn’t possibly  count the times were there’s a dramatic seen ware the man turns around and says in a passionate whisper.. ”some day you will find yourself and I will be here waiting”. Most people when you ask them about themselves they get in a quiver of ummm I like .. and umm I love. I believe it takes a big bang in your life to make you think wow I’m this way. Or maybe the big bang puts you in a spot where you’re stuck. Where your living everyday wondering who you are. You could also be the one who strongly THINKS I repeat THINKS they know. You live your life living breathing and thinking you know. In the end the people closest to you probably know your nothing but a confused clusterfuck of a mess.

Really, when you think about it the things you say you like ,do you really like them? Are you saying that because your searching and searching in your head for something. Then you think I did that yesterday, I liked that , then you say it out loud. You think wow was it really that hard? It’s like in kinder garden when the teacher puts a piece of paper in front of you and some paints.. “paint what you like”. I like cookies, my mom, and my blanket. Hm..

I could spend days watching people walk by me. Making up an in depth story about them because of the look on their face, the color they are warring, or the way they walk. Some would say I have too much time on my hands. I would say no ,you live in a box. Sometimes when you’re sitting in the background you learn the most about people. People always have a story and most of the time they have no idea.

My reasoning in this full story book is simple. Do you ever know who you are?During changing and loving and fighting and thinking and watching.. do you really?

Another Job Done..

I had finally finished Yulia's birdcage veils. They look amazing but have been making me a nervous wreck .I  have noticed when putting them on a normal surface the netting gets bent .I need some clever way to make them stay in the correct shape..as winnie poo would say Think Think Think. It was time to think about my packaging for these and here is what I came up with ..

I found these wonderful box's at Acmore. They worked great and were just the right size for these pieces. They always say packaging draws in the customers!

Picture Perfect  :) I can not wait to give them to her..

Just a little about me

I have noticed yesterday that reading my about me profile on my blog is pretty pitiful. I sit here and post and post my crafting abilities but never really about myself. I do have a past I swear. Everyone gets mushy and gushy with their blogs.. maybe tells a complete life story and cries about it in the end. I never really understood how people could sit and think wow my life sucks so bad. I have always believed in you are your own judge. You make your life what it is.

I like to think that I have always been lucky for the life that I’ve always had. I have a wonderful set of parents that almost our whole community knows as great people. My father has always been a handy man . He would seem to disappear in the depths of his work room making things out of scraps of wood. It always seemed to intrigue me and my sister when we were little. We would sit in the bathroom and listen through the vent to find out what he was doing. Listening to him singing to himself would always make our day. When Dad wasn’t using his hands he was usually making up some god awful poem that made us laugh. He was always great at comforting us . One hug made me and sister cringe with happiness every time. We knew we were his girls.

My mother ever since we were little couldn’t keep her hands off of any craft. I remember playing in the basement consisted of watching mom paint intricate lines on a  piece of wood. My mother was always surrounded by crafting. My grandmother dedicated a hole bedroom in her mobile home too craft supplies. She always said the room was for us kids. A day bed ,stuffed animals, and a lot of cat hair, wasn’t really impressing to us. Mom now has her own crafting room. When I moved out my sister was not hesitant to take my room . Hey like they say whatever makes you happy. Little did she know my room was cold and dark. Mom made it out with the warm and bright room filled with loads of crafting supplies. That lucky duck.

When I was a little girl my most remembered moment was I always wanted to be a business women. My sister and I always researched at the library for new things. My best friend Amanda always tagged along. We tried the friendship bracelet selling, the neighborhood plays, and the best of all of our ideas, our own magazine. Amanda has always loved fashion and the gossip magazines. I did also but the only time I read them when I was being corrupted underneath her bed reading them. Along with her sisters journal of course. Each of us ( which was only three people) had a different job. My job was too cut out magazine pictures and glue it to a piece of cardstock. Yeah, great magazine. We swore that someday this glue dripping construction paper magazine would be on all of the magazine racks. Amanda and I would spend days planning our bike ride down to the park with tuna sandwiches just to talk about it. Like all things the magazine idea eventually floated by when we found Pokémon cards. Worth a try.

For one Christmas I begged and begged for an easel. After reading all of these art books in the library ( the kids section) I thought painting would be my thing. I got my easel and I’ve probably painted five paintings. The rest were never finished. They all seemed to consist of lost ideas that I come back to and ask myself “what was I doing”. I never really go back to those paintings unless I move them. I never really move them. In high school I always had thought the kids in the art classes were cool. They always seemed like a close nit group. Nobody cared what the wore or they looked like. They were almost best friends with the teacher. People just knew they were an art kid. I wanted that.

I took two art  classes at Hudson valley. They other classes were the stupid ones that nobody liked, like English. In my views why do I need to take those dumb classes when I am taking art. I will never forget my first class in drawing. The teacher was wacky, kind of reminded me of the mad hatter. Just a sheltered art professor that knew his stuff. Looking him up on the internet I found wow he really knew his stuff. His sculptures were emaculant, his drawings were perfect, and his speaking was inspiring. Walking into my first class I expected  him to stand up and say “draw.. drawww away”. Yeah no. We spent a hole day on drawing a circle. “hold your arm out , that’s not good enough” for a week. That one class I took kicked my butt. Late nights up drawing kicked my butt. It all kicked my butt. Then there was one rainy day coming home from my art class. Slam I was hit. I passed out, and hit my head. I  woke up in a hospital with a concussion and an old man saying “ look at that baseball on your head”. This is when I say my famous quote “o my life”.

I did many things after this point some good , some bad, some life changing but doesn’t everyone? Art has always stuck by me in the end. I always made a friend a shirt, drew a friend a picture, painting  a friend a portrait ,I was always with art. That would be why I’m here. Doing what I love and what has stuck by my heart. The funny thing is ending this blog post I’m still thinking I missed so much. I didn’t document this story or tell about this. Well I guess that’s for me to know and you to find out.

Wedding Secrets

For the fall season I have a few weddings that I’m attending! I love love love the idea of wedding planning. Helping a friend of mine Rachel on her wedding flowers really brightened my eyes on how personalized people are making their weddings now. Weddings are covered in favorite colors, favorite things ,old pictures, favorite seasons, holidays, vintage décor, anything you can think off.

I had the pleasure in taking part in two weddings that are coming up. Rachel’s wedding I am most excited about because I’m not just making all off her flowers but I’m attending the wedding. It will be amazing seeing everything together! The best part is if there was no Rachel’s wedding there would be no Fabri-Fleur Designs. Rachel has inspired me in so many ways with her wedding . Through making her bouquets, boutonnieres, hair pieces, and off coarse her own bridal bouquet and bird cage veil. I had no idea I could make any of this without her coming to me for an opinion. Looking at Rachel’s very first piece I made for her it amazes me how much research and trial I have gone through with this business. She has no idea how much it means to me just for her to ask me for help. Thank you isn’t even a big enough word to explain.

It truly is amazing how you come across people in the most random places. I was recently at the Think Pink day last month and I found a familiar face. Yulia in whom which I haven’t seen since I have left high school, was at the event helping. She was one of the hand full of people I respected in high school . To hear her new news of her upcoming wedding I was so happy for her. It’s great to see people from your past doing well and not going the wrong way. Unfortunately a lot do  these days. Seeing Rachel’s beautiful head piece she wasn’t hesitant to ask me to do her brides maids feathered, black ,bird cage veils. I didn’t hesitate to say yes. I am excited to make five great pieces for her girls to keep forever. I am also honored to have the opportunity to make these pieces for her.

Having the excitement of having two weddings this fall inviting in my business inspired me. So much that now I’m announcing that after these two weddings are finished I am now starting a wedding collection. I plan on incorporating things that people aren’t used to seeing at weddings, bright colors, glitter feathers, satins, and big bows. I hope to inspire brides out there to personalize their own weddings. I cant announce when this will be finished but with a little research and hand crafting hopefully soon enough.
